Autumn Festival Tours
There are several local Autumn Festivals that allow you to share the experience with the crowds of local people while enjoying the festive atmosphere during the beautiful fall season. The Autumn Festival Tours that we offer are convenient by train, accessible within a day and have an English-speaking guide.
This wonderful festive atmosphere is filled with many floats and most notable, 19 portable shrines carried proudly.

Itinerary:
1. Assemble at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal (12:00).
2. Transfer to Katsuura Station via train.
3. Then from Katsuura Station you will transfer on foot to Katsuura Autumn Festival.
4. Enjoy Katsuura Autumn Festival (14:30-18:00).
5. Transfer back to Katuura Station on foot.
6. Transfer from Katsuura Station to Tokyo Station (19:30-20:30).
7. Tour disbands on arrival at Tokyo Station.

2. TSURUGAOKA HACHIMANGU SHRINE FESTIVAL*
Watch Yabusame or ancient archery performed by warriors in traditional costumes on horseback.

3. ISHIOKA FESTIVAL
This festival has been held since the ancient Edo Era and is said to bring upon good fortune of war. This festival is most notable for the unique traditional lion dances that are featured. Viewers can enjoy watching the beautiful floats passing by.

4. OHARA HADAKA FESTIVAL
This festival originally began during the Edo Period to pray for crops and good fishing. The festival is most notable for 18 floats carried out into the rough waters of Ohara Kaigan Beach by groups of young men in loincloths.

5. SAWARA GRAND FESTIVAL (Suwara Shrine Area)
This 300 year tradition has been noted for its huge dolls that are 4 meters high. They are created to represent figures from Japan's historical past and are paraded through the city along with its bold floats and festive music.

6. KAWAGOE FESTIVAL*
Floats that can weigh as much as 7 tons parade throughout the city among old fashioned "kurazukuri" style buildings and the town of "Little Edo" as a backdrop. Visitors can hear "Edo-bayashi", traditional music and during the climax of the parade bands compete with each other, called "hikkawase".

7. HAKONE DAIMYO GYORETSU*
During Edo Period (17th-19th Century) feudal lords’would make a procession to pass through Hakone check point. Now the Feudal Lord's Parade of the Tokugawa era is re-enacted which includes approximately 170 people dressed up as samurai warriors and princesses parading in a procession over a distance of 6 km.
